CharityEngine SMS Messaging Terms of Service

Effective Date: 4/10/2026

These Terms of Service govern participation in CharityEngine SMS messaging programs (“SMS Program”), including but not limited to conversational (1-to-1), informational, and engagement messaging.

By opting in to receive SMS communications, you agree to these Terms.

CharityEngine SMS Messaging Program

  1. Program Description (General SMS)

CharityEngine SMS messaging services allow organizations to send text messages to opted-in users via approved messaging platforms.

Messages may include, but are not limited to:

  • Donation requests and fundraising outreach
  • Donation confirmations and receipts
  • Event reminders and updates
  • Volunteer coordination
  • Account notifications
  • Customer support and service communications
  • Follow-up communications related to prior engagement

Message frequency varies depending on user interaction and organizational activity.

Message and data rates may apply.

  1. Consent & Opt-In 

Users provide consent to receive SMS messages by submitting their phone number through approved opt-in methods such as website forms, donation pages, event registrations, or other consent-based channels.

Consent is not a condition of purchase or donation.

Users may receive a confirmation message upon opting in.

  1. Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying:

STOP

After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further messages will be sent unless you re-subscribe.

  1. Help & Customer Support

If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance.

  1. Message Frequency

Message frequency will vary depending on your interaction with the organization. You may receive recurring or conversational messages based on your engagement, account activity, donations, event participation, or support inquiries.

  1. Messaging Types (Include 1-to-1 here)
a. Conversational (1-to-1) Messaging

CharityEngine supports person-to-person SMS communication between organizations and their constituents. These messages are typically:

  • Sent by a live agent or authorized representative
  • Triggered by user interaction or prior engagement
  • Used for support, engagement, and follow-up communication
b. Informational Messaging

Includes transactional or informational messages such as receipts, alerts, and reminders.

c. Fundraising & Engagement Messaging

Includes donation solicitations and mission-related outreach sent to opted-in users.

  1. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies. If you have questions about your text plan or data plan, please contact your wireless provider.

  1. Carrier Disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
